We Have A Blog!
So, why a blog?
When it comes to social media, Positive Perspectives has always strived to be a safe platform for our practitioners to share everything from normalizing how incredibly vulnerable therapy can be, to psychoeducation on grief, anxiety, and 2SLGBTQIA pride. Oh! I can’t forget the hilarious memes and relatable reels that are featured weekly as part of Meme Monday. And most especially - our voices and perspectives on relevant, meaningful and vulnerable topics.
We understand there are so many limitations and barriers that can prevent someone from accessing us, specifically on Instagram. Which is why we are so excited that you’re here!
This space is for you, friend.
I would love for you to Get To Know Your Therapist, which is the name of our first series on the blog that launched TODAY! I invite you to browse these posts written by my associates (AKA, your therapist) to explore what they wish they knew before starting therapy, their favourite parts about being a therapist, and some of the ways they stay busy (or unwind) outside of sessions with you! I’m confident that you will soon find that we are all human, we all have been to therapy, and have a huge adoration for this beautifully messy, eye-opening and explorative process. Can you tell that I’m a huge believer that #TherapyIsCool, yet?
Not too sure if therapy is right for you?
No worries! We know stepping into the world of therapy can be filled with tons of unknowns and can feel just downright, intimidating! We hope this space is a warm corner of the internet for you to land - whether you’re exploring the idea of therapy for the first time, or you’ve been with us from the start! Heeeey, Positive Perspectives alumni, circa 2014! Our services and resources are meant for ALL PEOPLE and we are committed to reaching as many of you as we can.
With that being said, we have an incredibly diverse and inclusive team here at Positive Perspectives, and I believe our voices have so much to offer. Transparency and autonomy are super important to us. Which is why we want to do our absolute best to shed some of those (super common, and not at all shameful) therapy nerves you may be feeling before coming into the office, or logging on to your virtual session.
So here we are. Loud and proud.
